There is nothing better than self-love magic! In a world made up of comparisons, social masks, and emotional and social struggles, practicing self-love and doing some self-love magic can be the best thing to live a happy, positive life.

We are often too focused on loving others but, the truth is, if we don’t love ourselves first, we just can’t show others a true, real, and profound feeling! One of the best aids comes from nature so today I want to dive into my favorite herbs for self-love magic.

Suppose you lost respect and love towards yourself because of a painful event in your life, such as heartbreak. In that case, a project you had very dear to your heart that failed, or you simply cannot feel a rush of positive, nurturing a love for your body and soul, these are signs you need self-love magic!

KEY TAKEAWAYS

Herbs like Lavender, Rose petals, Chamomile, Mint, Lemon leaves, and Lemon balm can enhance self-love magic through their soothing and calming properties.

Crafting a Chamomile bag for self-love can serve as a powerful tool for self-care, allowing individuals to carry the energy of self-love with them throughout the day.

These herbs work by promoting relaxation, self-acceptance, and inner peace, enabling individuals to cultivate a stronger sense of self-love and empowerment in their lives.

Herbs for self-love magic: how do they work?

Herbs for self-love magic work as a way to connect yourself to higher, more vibrant energies you will take from nature. They have elements to raise your vibrations and help you explore your soul from a different, unique perspective.

How to use them?

You can cast self-love spells, perform rituals, or even use these herbs for a rejuvenating bath! Let’s see now what herbs for self-love magic I usually use.

Lavender

Lavender is my favorite kind of herb! Its fragrance always helps me to connect with my higher self, find my focus, and relax! According to the classification of the historic French perfumer Piesse, a lavender essential oil is a heart note, that is, a light floral essence with medium volatility.

From an aromatherapy point of view, the heart notes are characterized by light vibrations, capable of stirring emotions and interacting with the emotional sphere of the individual.

The action takes place thanks to the evocative power of perfumes, which awaken memories, emotions, brain functions, and thought forms that have an organic impact. In this key, to promote development and well-being, it is essential to consider man as an indivisible entity, in which the bodily, mental, and spiritual aspects converge into one another.

Essential oil represents a real condensate of light, which helps a man in the process of individual evolution.

Rose petals

The rose was linked to the cult of Venus and associated with love intended as fruitfulness. The explanation of the red color of the rose, which had replaced the lilies in the ornaments of the altars, is rooted in myth.

It is said that Adonis, a beautiful young man, disputed between Aphrodite and Semele, was attacked one day by a wild boar stirred by Mars. Then he was hidden by the goddess in a rose bush and painted the flowers with his blood. The roses, which were white before the misfortune, turned red.

The rose was used to weave crowns and in some rituals for Ceres or Flora. Even today, neo-paganism provides love rites with the use of fresh roses and water, the element that participated in the birth of the goddess Aphrodite.

Chamomile

Prosperity, protection, calm, creativity, friendship, peace.

In addition to being used as an infusion, dried and pulverized flowers can be burned like incense or added to bags. In the Middle Ages, it was grown not only as a medicine but also as an ingredient for love filters (chamomile water) or was burned as incense to keep away the dark forces that caused the inexplicable and dramatic epidemics of infectious diseases such as tuberculosis; for the same protective purpose, it hung above cradles or was spread on the floor; even in gardens, it was placed side by side “in support” of other crops.

Since ancient times, it is a symbol of friendship and strength in adversity; it is a plant that offers energy and calm to face the difficulties of everyday life.

It burns as incense in moments of high stress and imbalance to restore peace and calm; its infusion is also used to purify mirrors and ritual objects as well as to purify and bathe.

Mint

Mint has been well known since ancient times: Hippocrates attributed it to diuretic properties and is mentioned by numerous other Latin scholars as a medicinal herb. However, the plant used in antiquity is not comparable to what we use today: the current hybrid was obtained in 1750, in England. According to Greek mythology, Minta was the daughter of Cocito, the river of Hades.

Loved by Pluto, king of the underworld, Minta was turned into a plant by his wife, Proserpina, out of jealousy. In the Islamic tradition, it was given as a token of love for young lovers.

Lemon leaves

According to some schools of thought, lemon is associated with the feminine and lunar essence. The lemon tree blooms and bears fruit all year round; lemon is a juicy and genuine fruit, much like love, which is why it is often considered the symbol of loving, loyalty, and fertility.

Lemon balm

Lemon balm is an aromatic plant highly sought after by bees and, in fact, its name derives from the Greek melissophyllon, which means “bee leaf”. Sometimes the Greeks rubbed it on the hives so they remained nearby; moreover, it was used therapeutically to relieve headaches and nervous tension.

The house was perfumed with lemon balm and it was considered the plant of love and happiness: it was customary for lovers of those times to wear a bracelet woven with this plant.

Herbal bath for self-love

Add a few lemon flowers and some lavender to a hot bath. Light up a pink candle and say these words: I love every inch of my body. I love every inch of my soul. May love surround me.

Self-love spell with herbs

This spell is great for seeking love and self-respect. It can also help you relax and overcome difficult moments in life.

Ingredients:

How to perform it:

Place the mirror on a table, on your altar, or where it is most comfortable. Place the candles around the mirror to form a circle. Take the herbs in your hands, feel their energy, rub them between your fingers.

Once done, close your eyes and visualize yourself sitting where you are at the moment.

Visualize a green ball of energy as if it were placed on your chest. You see the light of the ball become more and more bright and lively mixed with the light of the candles that are reflected in the mirror and then again on you.

Breathe deeply, exhale slowly, then sprinkle the herbs on the mirror and repeat:

“Love inside, love without
I leave the pain and doubt behind
I recognize the scars
so that I can breathe the stars.”

Chamomile bag for self-love

Suppose you are dealing with some personal struggles. In that case, if you are in a moment of self-doubt and you don’t feel a deep connection with yourself, it’s time to shift this kind of bad energy, this dark circle around you to attract even more amazing, vibrant energy and honor yourself for the unique, amazing, precious human being you are.

Use a little bag (or create one if you want with a DIY project) and put some chamomile flowers into the bag together with a self-love sigil.

If you don’t know how to create a sigil, check out my guide! Use a sentence that makes you feel loved, respected, and amazed by yourself.

Close the bag and leave it to absorb the energy on a night of new moon.

You can leave it by a window or on your altar to make it happen!

Once you are done with this consecration project you can keep it with you, place it under your bed, in your purse, or you can even wear it when you feel you need some loving feelings for yourself.
