Chas is correct, at least that is what I heard during one of my FedEx training sessions. Good on the company for suspecting something medical going on, and requiring the captain to get this checked out. It likely saved his life. Just a little more to the story, here.

Fedex has been very strict on this since the FAA guidance on this was established in 2003. I don’t remember what happened to the crew on this flight, but I’m sure it wasn’t swept under the rug.
